A design based on what one might find at a fresh food market. The design is currently available as fabric at my Spoonflower shop, and as products from my Roostery shop. The are also available at Coast Emporium (33 Alma Road, New Lambton) and sometimes at Art Bazaar at the NCEATA stand or from my online shop.
This illustration has been published in the They Draw and Cook “Get Spicy” book in a slightly different format.
I have placed the citrus yellow peppers on a plate with South American inspired patterning around the edges, inspired by the national costumes worn by the local children, the plant is beside a Blue grey Tanager bird; a local bird species. The horizontal line at the top of the design comes from the mountain range around Machu Pichu, with the sky showing above.
A hyper lush digital collage which includes the Noisy Miner bird (Manorina melanocephala), a bird in the honeyeater family, Meliphagidae, and is endemic to eastern and south-eastern Australia. Butterflies, camellias, a watercolour background, lace and polka dot fabric have been included.
This design has been assembled from illustrated and lino printed motifs in various shades of green. The border is based on the metal work on the band rotunda in King Edward Park, Newcastle. The design is available as a fabric design and tea towel design at my Spoonflower and Roostery shops.
